Actual item pictured with clear WaA markings.
This original two-piece barrel was used for blank firing. Since the MG34 is a short recoil operated gun and blank cartridges don't have any projectile to provide recoil energy, the rear light-weight portion of the barrel uses the pressure blast to act as a piston to cycle the gun while the front portion remains stationary. See page 323 of "MG34-MG42, GERMAN UNIVERSAL MACHINE GUNS" by Folke Myrvang, an excellent book for collectors.
Some small dings on the muzzle otherwise veer nice.
The barrel carrier is an original German pattern 43 dual purpose but has been repainted post war Yugo and has a Yugo sling.
