Limited Production Run of newly manufactured CHROME LINED 8mm Mauser barrels with original German MG3 barrel collar installed and properly headspaced.
- Caliber: 8mm Mauser (7.92mm x 57)
- Compatibility: All MG42, M53, and variant platforms.
- Note: 8mm MG42 setups require 8mm Mauser pattern bolts. MG3 or 42/59 7.62 NATO bolt heads will not properly extract 8mm Mauser cartridges while 8mm Mauser pattern bolts will extract both calibers.
- Barrel Material: CrMoV - GBQ
- Commonly called "CMV" - This durable material was imported from a specialty steel manufacturer in Germany and is well suited for machine guns. It is also certified to meet MIL-B-11595E specification for US military gun barrels.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR HEADSPACE:
For 8mm Mauser, we inspect each barrel with standard "GO" and "NO-GO" 8mm Mauser gauges. However, it's good practice with any MG42 to verify headspace with the specific bolt, barrel, and type of ammo you are using. Headspace that is too short can result in very dangerous out-of-battery detonations.
