If you don't have the special tools, squeeze-riveting the original pattern double countersunk barrel door rivets can be challenging. We came up with this screw and nut system for attaching the MG42 barrel door to the receiver. The barrel length allows you to get the proper tension on your door so you won't bee too loose or too tight on your door movement. The barrel diameter on the nut and shoulder on the screw is 5.95mm and is compatible will all MG42, M53, M74, 42/59, and MG3 barrel doors. The end of the screw is countersunk if you want to stake it in place. Locking compound on the thread is also a good option.
